Average Emergency Response Time: approximately 4 minutes
Fire (Extinguishment)
Ø Residential structures
Ø Industrial structures
Ø Commercial structures
Ø Vehicle
Ø Dumpster/grass
Ø Anything else that burns
Medical (We bring the Emergency Room to the patient)
Ø Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) by paramedics.
Ø Immediate transport via ALS Rescue to the nearest appropriate hospital facility for the patient’s condition. All Engines are ALS equipped and staffed with Paramedics. All Ladders are BLS equipped and staffed with EMT’s and/or Paramedics.
Ø Advanced intravenous (IV) and intraosseous (IO) fluid and/or medication administration for cardiac, respiratory, and other life threatening conditions
Ø Provide emergent advanced airways for patients in respiratory distress and/or arrest
Ø Treat emergent cardiac patients and their arrhythmias appropriately
Ø Transmit EKG’s directly from the scene to emergency room physicians and cardiologists (STEMI)
Ø Stabilize and provide care for trauma and/or burn patients
Ø Provide emergent obstetrics care and manage treatment both before and after child birth
Ø Treat whatever other medical emergency a patient may experience
Rescue
Ø Vehicle extrication
Ø Industrial machine extrication
Ø Residential structure fire search and rescue
Ø Technical rescue/scene hazard mitigation
Ø Any other type of rescue where someone calls for help
Fire Prevention
Ø Fire safety talks for seniors on location and for children at schools and fire safety-smoke house
Ø Code preplanning and enforcement
Ø Investigate arson, fatal, and suspicious fires
Ø Ensure life safety for special events (Ex. Home Coming, Arab Festival, parades, etc.)
Emergency Management
Ø Prepares for any potential major incidents: environmental, natural disaster, terrorist, etc.
Ø Mitigate and stabilize hazardous materials incidents
